All we can see is that the boiler casing has not been removed off of the boiler in years – we may be missing something but there is only one way to service a boiler and you need to remove the casing for this!!!!

“My domestic central heating broke down a week before Christmas leaving me without heat or hot water. My usual heating engineer was busy, so I contacted Valley Services on the Monday. They were able to send an engineer out that day and he arrived at exactly the specified time. He diagnosed the pump had failed and needed replacing. He said a pump would have to be ordered and he would ensure the repair would be done before Christmas.
The following day Valley Services rang to quote a price, which I agreed and said the engineer would come on Friday (23rd December) to do the work. They said it would be soon after 8.00am.
On the Friday the same very pleasant and professional heating engineer arrived and within an hour had completed the replacement. He told me whoever had serviced the boiler had used tape instead of a seal within the boiler and he rectified this.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents and Gas Safe Charity are launching a new programme to raise awareness of the dangers of carbon monoxide.
The “Be Gas Safe” programme (www.carbonmonoxidesafety.org.uk) – which will see 10,000 families receiving a free CO detector and many more receiving safety information – aims to make people aware of the dangers of carbon monoxide (CO) and the steps that can be taken to prevent CO poisoning, such as the need for regular servicing of fuel-burning appliances, good ventilation and the use of audible CO detectors.
Each year in England and Wales, there are approximately 50 accidental deaths, 200 non-fatal poisonings that require hospital admission and 4,000 visits to A&E that result from CO poisoning. Children and older people are particularly at risk.
With gas appliances and flues that have not been properly installed, maintained or ventilated known to be among the causes of CO poisoning, the key focus of the new three-year programme will be sharing information and advice about how to stay “gas safe”. Audible CO detectors will also be distributed free of charge to 10,000 families.
Get your gas appliances regularly serviced and safety checked every year. Gas appliances that are left unchecked could be dangerous and leaking carbon monoxide.
